Recommended MailScanner Settings to Minimize SPAM

Locate MailScanner in Cpanel

It is recommended that you have "Spam Scanning" turned on and then either "Delete" or "Forward to spam@domain.com" so that the low and high scoring spam is not delivered to your regular inbox.  If you chose "spam@domain.com", make sure that you have that email address created first.

If you go to "Other Settings" you will be able to change the scoring of your low and high spam.  The defaults are 5 for low and 10 for high.  You can slowly adjust these lower or higher as required.  We have found that 4 for low scoring spam works fairly well.

If you want to see the email delivered to your account and release anything that was captured by the system you can use the MailControl area to view a list of emails.  Click on the icon on the left to view additional details and options.
